Postmates uses Uber's fee infrastructure — delivery fees are demand-based and unpredictable, plus a service fee percentage on top. Outside LA, where the merchant catalog thins, you pay Uber Eats prices for a narrower selection.

Grocery and convenience coverage is solid in LA and a handful of other major cities, but Postmates has not scaled grocery retail partnerships nationally the way DoorDash or Instacart has.

Postmates fulfills orders through the Uber driver network, so delivery times are comparable to Uber Eats at 30–60 minutes. Driver availability outside major cities can extend ETAs.

Postmates Unlimited at $9.99 per month mirrors Uber One's structure but lacks the ride discount and broader Uber ecosystem benefits. You pay the same price for a subset of what Uber One offers.

Postmates is a separate app from Uber Eats despite sharing the same backend, and it receives less active development. Feature parity with Uber Eats has fallen behind.

Postmates has run on Uber Eats' merchant catalog and delivery network since the two apps' backend integration completed in 2021, so its grocery selection mirrors Uber Eats' rather than offering anything distinct — including the same lack of a dedicated organic or dietary filter for grocery orders.
